Jacksonville couple charged with burglary, theft

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – After a pursuit of a stolen Jeep that crashed into two cars at a Vilano Beach hotel early Monday morning, the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office arrested a Jacksonville man and woman in connection with a vehicle burglary.

Dreren Anthony Williams, 20, and Angelina Nichole Green, 19, were each were each charged with one count of armed burglary to a conveyance and theft and were booked into the St. Johns County County Jail.

Deputies initially responded to reports of a suspicious person and vehicle in the 200 block of Ponte Vedra Boulevard at 2:45 a.m. As deputies approached the vehicle, the driver sped away, heading south to A1A. Deputies determined that the vehicle, a Jeep Cherokee was reported stolen out of Duval County last Wednesday.

Deputies followed the vehicle to Vilano Beach, where the driver crashed into two vehicles at a Hampton Inn parking lot. The passenger, later identified as Green, was taken into custody without incident, but Williams ran. 

A Code Red phone message was launched to alert nearby residents of a suspect in the area. He was located a short time later and taken into custody.

The two are charged with a burglary to a vehicle and theft of a Pablo Road residence in Ponte Vedra Beach early Monday morning. Additional charges are pending further investigation.
