The Jacksonville Light Parade is set to take place at 7 p.m. Nov. 30 and will be held in partnership with private organizations and local supporters, including the Jacksonville Landing and the Jacksonville Marine Association.
The city invites boat captains and crews to register for this year's parade. Registration is free, but according to the city, it is limited to the first 100 vessels.
In a statement, the city said the Jacksonville Light Parade is a river tradition, during which festively decorated vessels of all shapes and sizes parade along the St. Johns River through downtown Jacksonville.
The event culminates in a fireworks show.
"The Jacksonville Light Parade is a proud holiday tradition in downtown Jacksonville that illuminates our treasured St. Johns River," said Mayor Alvin Brown. "I applaud the civic-minded individuals who have stepped up to support this long standing event, and encourage boat captains to sign up."
