Jacksonville man wins $500K in scratch-off game

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – A 65-year-old Jacksonville man has claimed the top prize in a $500,000 Holiday Millions Scratch-Off game.

Wayne Gaulding purchased his winning ticket from Welcome Food Store at 11531 San Jose Blvd., Suite 15 in Jacksonville.

The $5 Scratch-Off game launched in October and features more than 2.9 million prizes, including eight top prizes of $500,000. The game’s overall odds of winning are one-in-4.06, Florida Lottery officials said.

Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery's portfolio of games, comprising approximately 65 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $734 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2015-16.
