Jacksonville man wins $9 million jackpot

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Lottery announced Friday that The Billy Douglas Living Trust claimed the $9 million Florida Lotto jackpot from the drawing held on Jan. 3, 2015.

Trustee William Polochak, 50, of Jacksonville, chose to receive the winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $6,355,446.96.

Polochak purchased his jackpot-winning Quick Pick ticket at FCE #1050, located at 4755 Hodges Boulevard in Jacksonville. The retailer received a bonus commission of $45,000 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.

Total ticket sales for this jackpot generated more than $8.5 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).

The next Florida Lotto drawing will be Saturday at 11:15 p.m. with a $7 million jackpot.
