Jacksonville pastor's church vandalized

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It's a senseless act that hurts church members and the community, and it costs a lot of money in damages

Pastor William Robinson couldn't believe what he saw when he arrived at the Epiphany Baptist church at 7 o'clock Wednesday morning.

"I was really distraught, I could not believe someone would write those words on the doors of a church," said Robinson.

A trustee at the church called to tell him the building had been vandalized.
He actually expected more damage than he imagined.

"When I came here I expected all of the windows to be busted out. I didn't expect to see the writing on the church, and that's what really got me," said Robinson.

But Robinson says what really warmed his heart was how the community pulled together to help out.

"The neighbors came out and they said, 'Pastor, what can we do,' and we had people to help clean the graffiti of the walls," said Robinson.

Pastor Robinson says the church does have insurance and they make it through this. He says he would like to see the vandal caught and get some help.
