Police investigate 2 shootings hours apart

Shots hit victims in both incidents; home in one

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are investigating shootings that happened late Saturday and early Sunday in separate Jacksonville neighborhoods. People were hit by gunfire in both incidents, and in one a round fired hit the front door of a house.

The first shooting happened just after 11 p.m. Saturday on 7237 Sandhurst Road, near Merrill Road in Arlington. Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Investigators say an unknown suspect fired two guns from an unknown location on the street.

One of the rounds struck the front door of the residence according to officers, the other round hit a man who lived in the house and was outside nearby at the time.
The bullet hit the man in the foot and officers said his injury was minor.

Right now detectives have no information on a suspect.

At 2:30 Sunday morning, officers were called out to 5020 Cleveland Road in reference to a person shot. The victim had one gunshot wound officers say in the lower body.  It's not known how many shots were fired.
