Jacksonville ranked No. 1 city to start a business

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville is the best city in the country to start a business, according to WalletHub.com, a leading personal finance network online.

The website ranked the River City No. 1 out of 150 of the largest cities in the U.S.

WalletHub looked at several factors, all of which Jacksonville ranked high.

The report says Jacksonville has one of the highest business survival rates and one of the lowest corporate tax rates.

The city also has a significant disparity between the number of job openings and the number of people unemployed, which means new business owners would have a deep pool of potential employees.

Newark, N.J., ranked as the worst city on the list to start a business.
