Jacksonville woman guilty for tax fraud

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – As tax season gets into full swing, some criminals are looking to make a quick buck by defrauding Uncle Sam.

Cherica Daniels is one of those people and has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud the United States and aggravated identity theft.

Daniels was part of a scheme that prepared and filed fake tax returns using stolen identities and Social Security numbers.

When she was arrested, special agents say they found more than 200 stolen identities in Daniels possession.

According to officials, although Daniels hasn't been sentenced, she could face up to seven years in federal prison.

Daniels was indicted on Sept. 10, 2014.
