The kids got to see the animals up close and pet them as their families took them through the sanctuary.

News4JAX caught up with the offensive lineman, who told us why he's inspired to help cancer patients.

"When I was in college there was a little boy who had a brain tumor. We kind of adopted him on our team and he had a big impact on me. So when I started looking around the community, I was drawn to pediatric cancer and it has just evolved from there," Beadles said.

The kids also got to eat special treats with football players on them- just in time for the start of the season.
