Jaguars Johnathan Cyprien gives back to kids

Jaguars safety holds special day for Boys and Girls Club kids

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – Through hard work and determination, Jaguars safety Johnathan Cyprien has succeeded in fulfilling his dream of playing professional football in the NFL.

But having achieved such lofty goals, Cyprien isn't content with just sitting back and watching others struggle and suffer.

In an attempt to give back to the community and help others reach their dreams and goals, Cyprien hosted a special day Thursday for the children of the Boys and Girls Club of Jacksonville Beach.

"This is my second year. I love coming out here. The kids are great. We have a lot of fun," Cyprien said. "We did some combine drills. We did some pro-shuttle. We did some kind of 40-yard dashes, made it into a relay. We caught the ball and did some drills. It was pretty fun."

Cyprien took children through football-related drills, teaching the kids hard work, determination and a strong work ethic, while teaching the kids the benefits of leading a healthy active lifestyle, something the NFL is big on.

"You know, Play 60 is big. And what we wanna do is have these kids come out here and play, have a good time, but most importantly, be out here as role models and talk to them, to motivate them to be better," Cyprien said.

When asked whether or not he saw some potential NFL football players Thursday Cyprien said, "I saw some good moves by some of the boys, even the girls. You know, they were doing pretty good. And I'm impressed."
