Fla. Air National Guard heads to Europe

200 airmen and support equipment deploy from Jacksonville International

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, 200 airmen and support equipment along with 12 F-15's from the 125th Fighter Wing, Florida Air National Guard, Jacksonville are headed to bases across Europe.

The United States Air Force said in a statement that this deployment will help to build a new and deeper partnership across the European Continent and serve to reassure the U.S.'s European allies of America's commitment to peace and regional security.

The airmen and jets involved will be part of the 159th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron and will be training alongside NATO allies to strengthen interoperability and to demonstrate U.S. commitment to the security and stability of Europe the Air Force said.  

U.S. forces will be stationed at Leeuwarden, Netherlands and Graf Ignatievo, Bulgaria, among others.
