RALEIGH, N.C. – A flight that was bound for Jacksonville International Airport flying out of Philadelphia had to make an emergency landing in North Carolina Wednesday night.

According to a spokesperson with the Raleigh-Durham International Airport, Republic Airlines flight 4488, operating as American Eagle, was on its way to Jacksonville when the cockpit began filling with smoke.

The pilots of the flight were able to land the plane safely in Raleigh and there were no reported injuries to passengers or crew.

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Clay Harbor was on the flight and tweeted out, "First emergency landing pretty intense thanks for the excitement @AmericanAir." 

The airline said that is was working on getting the passengers of the flight to Jacksonville as quickly as possible.
