Jax man arrested for child pornography

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – After a thorough investigation by the FBI and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Chad Jason Lansford, 29, has been indicted on charges of advertising for child pornography.

If convicted, Lansford faces from 15 to 30 years in federal prison and a potential life term of supervision.

This is yet another case in combating the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse as part of Project Safe Childhood.

Started in May 2006 by the Department of Justice, the project is a joint operation led by the United States Attorneys' Offices and the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section that uses federal, state and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.
