The woman is seriously injured and was airlifted to a UF Health Jacksonville.

Troopers said the woman, whose name has not been released, was crossing against the light and the driver tried to avoid hitting her. The driver, Brian Cliffin, stopped after the accident and was cooperating with investigators.

"I was on my way to work at a part-time job in Jacksonville, came through a green light (and) I didn't see -- there was a lady on the bike I didn't see until the last second. I didn't have time to stop," Cliffin said.

Troopers said Cliffin stopped at the scene and tried to help the woman.

"She was unresponsive the whole time," Cliffin said. "I'm just praying for her that everything is OK. That's just my main concern."

No charges have been filed against Cliffin, troopers said.

Eastbound lanes of Normandy Boulevard were blocked in the area until about 5:20 p.m.

This article will be updated when the FHP report comes out with more details and the victim's name.
