JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A motorcyclist died in a crash on the Southside on Tuesday afternoon, according to Jacksonville police.
Police said 54-year-old Howard Ford's motorcycle collided with a vehicle about 3:30 p.m. on Beach Boulevard at Cortez Road, near St. Johns Bluff Road.

Ford was taken to UF Health Jacksonville, where he died.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center.
All westbound lanes of Beach at St. Johns Bluff were closed while police investigated the crash.
