JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Police have arrested one man in connection with a shooting outside a Lane Avenue apartment complex Tuesday morning and they have a warrant to arrest a second man.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has not released the name of the man in his 20s shot multiple times and transported to Shands Jacksonville Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Late Tuesday, police said they had arrested 32-year-old Samson A. Woods on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and accessory after the fact.

Police are looking for a second suspect: 39-year-old Edward Lamont Hicks.  He is wanted on charges of attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police said Hicks fled the scene Tuesday morning in a black Ford F-150 with Florida tag AYA8230.

Lane Avenue shooting The shooting occurred just before 6 a.m. in the parking lot of apartments in the 1500 block of Lane Avenue South. The victim drove himself or was taken to a gas station at the corner of Lane and Lenox avenues.

A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office homicide detective says it appears the shooting may have been over a dispute about drugs or prostitution.
