JACKSONVILLE,Fla. – With the growing popularity of the crowd-funding festival One Spark, featuring innovators and entrepreneurs, many aspiring business owners search for the secrets to becoming tops in their industry.
Five Florida companies, including two with strong ties to Jacksonville, are being recognized for achieving that goal, according to Fortune Magazine.

The magazine has recently released it's annual list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in the U.S. Among them: JM Family Enterprises, Inc., (#34) and Publix Supermarkets, Inc., (#81).
According to Fortune's report, JM Family Enterprises "offer a wide range of services within the field of auto sales."
The report also noted that the company's profit sharing, bonuses, even rides on a private jet. It said the JM Family proudly rewards its people at all levels the way other companies treat their top executives
JM received recognition for its 17th consecutive year, the company issued a statement quoting it's president and CEO Colin Brown which said, "JM Family was built on the philosophy that associates are the company's most important asset and that principle continues to be the driving force in our success."
The Fortune report also highlighted Publix Supermarkets' philosophy, "Take care of the people, and they will take care of the business" which is "reflected in the fact that it's employee-owned."
The article states that Publix operates more than "1,000 stores in six southern U.S. states (with) distribution, warehousing and manufacturing facilities supplying fresh produce, dairy products, baked goods and prepared meats and salads.
"One of only 12 companies to have made the list every year since its inception in 1998," the company's corporate website also quotes its CEO Ed Crenshaw saying, "The secret to our success is our associates, company owners themselves who've been making Publix a great place to work for 85 years."
The other Florida companies that made the list are: Ultimate Software (#21) based in Weston, Baptist Health South Florida (#23) based in Coral Gables, Arthrex Incorporated (#94) based in Naples.
