JSO: 2 arrested in Yorkie puppy theft

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two 19-year-old girls were arrested and charged with grand theft after police say they stole a Yorkie puppy worth $1,800 from a Mandarin pet store.

According to the arrest reports, Brooke Seal and Laruen Jaffe went to Pet World in Mandarin and each picked out dogs. Police said Jaffe distracted the workers, while Seal stashed the black-and-white Yorkie puppy in her purse.

They left without paying for the dog (pictured).

The next day, a woman returned the puppy to Pet World. She said a girl, later identified as Seal, had given her the dog, which had a note saying "I belong to Pet World."

Both Seal and Jaffe were identified by a witness at the store.
