Two men were injured on the Westside late Tuesday night in an apparent drug-related shooting, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Officers were dispatched to Melvin Road near Firestone Road shortly after 10 p.m. When they arrived, they found Ronald Blackman, 31, and Richard Gordon, 20, suffering gunshot wounds.
Both men are in stable condition.
"At this particular point we were told that two black males approached them from behind a home and shot both the individuals. We do believe there appears to be some drug activity involved, to what extent were trying to find out through the investigation," said Sgt. Lonnie Mills.
Goodman and Blackman told police two men shot them, but were unable to give a more detailed description, according to Mills.
