Police search for suspect after Metro PCS store clerk found dead

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are searching for the gunman who shot and killed a clerk after she was found dead inside of a cell phone store.

The woman's body was discovered at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Metro PCS store, located at 21st Street and Main Street in Jacksonville.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the woman was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds.

Authorities said the gunman asked for money. Afterwards, witnesses ran from the store once they heard gunshots fired.

Rebin Ibrahim works across the street.

"One of the customers came over and he told us that there was a robber. That's when we called the police," said Ibrahim. "By the time we came outside, I guess the robber got away."

Police estimate the woman's age is between 18 and 25 years old.

"We're hoping to get video, but we don't know if there is video at this time," said Sgt. Michael Paul of JSO.

"It's horrible having to lose someone because someone wants to rob you," said Ibrahim. "It's sad, it's really sad."

No other information has been provided at this time.
