JSO corrections officer arrested on felony charges

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office corrections officer was arrested Monday on three felony charges.

Wendle Norman, who has been with JSO since September 2003, was arrested and charged with misappropriation of food stamp funds, grand theft and schemes to defraud.

The arrest was the result of a JSO Integrity Unit investigation.

According to the arrest report, Norman's wife, Latosha Norman, was also arrested on the same charges. The crimes took place at the Sam's Club on Busch Drive from December 2013 to August 2014, according to the report.

Wendle Norman's personnel file shows one citizen complaint against him in his 11-plus years with the agency.

Wendle Norman is on administrative leave without pay, JSO said, and the investigation is on-going.
