No signs of foul play in bus stop death

54-year-old found dead at Springfield stop Wednesday morning

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – There were no signs of foul play or trauma on the body of a 54-year-old man found dead next to a bus stop Wednesday morning in Springfield, according to Jacksonville police.

Police were called to 19th and Pearl streets about 8 a.m. and found the man.

They said he had a hospital band on his wrist with his name on it.

"It's not that unusual at least for us to see someone with a hospital band and they don't cut it off right away," said Sgt. Robert Beers. "Then we say, 'Oh, did you just get out of the hospital,' and they say, 'No, it's been like four days or whatever.' So that tells us he's been in the hospital but it doesn't tell us when or for what."

Beers said it's unclear which hospital the man was in.

Police said they will release his name once they get in touch with his family.
