JSO investigates fatal hit-and-run involving pedestrian

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian.

It happened at 5:35 a.m. Saturday at Union Street and A. Philip Randolph Boulevard.

Nathan Conerly Jr., 19, was walking on the Union Street Expressway when he was struck by three separate vehicles. Two of them remained at the scene.

Evidence showed the two vehicles struck Conerly after he was prone in the roadway. JSO said evidence at the scene indicated he was first struck by a third vehicle, which did not remain at the scene.

Investigators have since located the third vehicle.

JSO said it is unknown why Conerly was in the roadway. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
