JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A dog that bit a man before a meeting of the Jacksonville City Council earlier this month passed his behavior evaluation Friday.
The dog, named Elvis, was evaluated on the 10th day of his quarantine to determine if he would be made available for adoption again, according to Animal Care and Protective Services.

As of Monday, someone who was interested in adopting Elvis had already contacted ACPS, and the adoption process was underway.
A 63-year-old man was injured when Elvis bit him before the meeting of the Jacksonville City Council on June 13, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
According to the Sheriff's Office, there were a number of people and two dogs at City Hall for an adoption event, and Boree Henderson accidentally stepped on one of the dogs, Elvis, when he moved down the main aisle to greet someone.

Elvis bit him on the leg, and Henderson became tangled in the leash and fell to the floor. He was treated by firefighters for the bite.
Both dogs were from ACPS.
Henderson was at the council meeting because his grandchildren were acting as council "helpers."
