Police: Man dies in Arlington shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 30-year-old man died after being shot multiple times Thursday night at University Place Apartments in Arlington, according to Jacksonville police.

Just after 9 p.m., police were dispatched to 3281 University Blvd. N. in reference to multiple calls of shots fired.

When police arrived on scene, they found William Wright shot numerous times in the parking lot of the complex. Wright was taken to UF Health Jacksonville, where he died.

Witnesses indicated to police there were likely multiple shooters, although it is unclear how many weapons or how many shots were fired, according to police.

The only thing police know about the shooters is that they fled on foot, but detectives are still investigating.
