According to the police report, Weaver "was forced to fire one round, striking the dog in the chest, which caused the dog to quickly flee."

Only the dog suffered any injury. JSO called Animal Care and Protective Services to pick up the dog, which will be euthanized.

The apartment complex manager told police the complex had been having problems with the dog. Police said several calls had been made to police and Animal Control in the past few days about an aggressive dog in the area.
