JSO: Police cruiser in Westside crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two detectives had to be cut out of their unmarked police car by rescue workers after it was struck by a car at a Westside intersection on Friday afternoon.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the police car was driving north on Cecil Commerce Center Parkway at 103rd Street when it was struck by a Honda SUV that as turning left.

The 19-year-old woman driving the Honda along with two detectives Mark Gupton and Karen Dukes were all hospitalized with minor injuries.

According to investigators, both drivers claim they had a green light when they entered the intersection.

One lane westbound on 103rd Street was blocked for a time after the crash.
