JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Officers were called to the scene of what they said was a possible meth lab around 6:30 p.m. Sunday on Longchamp Drive on the Westside.
Detectives received a call from a resident who said they found strange items in the shed behind their home. Responding officers found items used to make the drug methamphetamine.
The homeowners were evacuated for safety precautions because the items used to make the drugs are said to be flammable and explosive. The couple is not believed to be responsible.
Detectives do have a person of interest in the case but have not released additional information. They also did not say which items were specifically found in the shed.
The investigation is expected to continue for a while. Officers have shut down Longchamp Drive to everyone except residents while they investigate.
