JSO: Woman robs Compass bank in Regency area

The Compass Bank at 299 Monument Rd. was robbed on Jan. 16.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman robbed the BBVA Compass bank on Monument Road in the Regency area Friday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said about 10:15 a.m. Friday, the woman entered the bank at 299 Monument Road, approached a teller, threatened the teller with a note that said she had a gun and demanded cash.

The teller gave the woman an undetermined amount of cash, and the woman fled the bank on foot, police said. No vehicle was seen. 

The woman is described as black, between 30-50 years old, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and weighing about 150 pounds. She was last seen wearing an orange zip-up jacket, dark sweat pants, a white beanie cap and large sunglasses.
