Sgt. C.H. Ford said the investigation revealed that a black man, about 6 feet tall with a thin goatee and wearing dark clothing, entered the bank, approached a teller and gave the teller a note demanding money.

The noted indicated the man had a gun, Ford said.

"Prior to receiving any compensation or any money from the bank, the suspect fled for unknown reasons," Ford said.

The man fled on foot. No weapon was displayed and no one was injured, Ford said.

Ford said there does not appear to be any connection between this robbery and another bank robbery earlier Friday in the Regency area.
