Man diagnosed with dementia found safe

Benjamin Jones found safe after reported missing Friday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says a man diagnosed with dementia who went missing Friday has been found safe.

Authorities said Benjamin Jones left the Country Cabin Restaurant on Dunn Avenue after meeting his daughter-in-law Friday for lunch.

Jones was supposed to follow her home, driving his 1993 Turquoise Crown Victoria, but JSO said they got separated and he never returned home.

Authorities said Friday evening that Jones had been driving around lost when he pulled into a Hardee's near JTB to ask for directions, when a JSO patrol officer spotted him.
