JSO seeks help identifying murder victim

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is asking for the community's help identifying a murder victim found near the St. Johns Town Center in 2013.

The man was found in a wooded area near the Publix at 10299 Brightman Blvd. on Friday, March 8, 2013.

The victim was wearing two white Nike tennis shoes, a baseball hat with a Nike emblem, two white socks, black sweatpants and a black T-shirt. Wire-framed sunglasses and contact-lens eye solution were found with the victim.

The victim's age range is between 40-75 years old, and he is estimated to have been 64-72 inches tall.

The victim possibly suffered from Eagle's syndrome, arthritis and ear problems. Previous fractures were found on the left side of the nose, a finger, right and left ribs, and two toes. The victim likely had a fracture with surgical repair to his right kneecap. The victim had periodontal disease with fillings and multiple cavities present.

At the time the remains were located, it was unknown how long they could have been there -- months or years.
