Justice Coalition hosts annual Ride for Justice, dedicated to Cherish

Over 250 people participate in 50-mile Ride for Justice

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The funeral of Cherish Perrywinkle was held Friday, but people will continue to remember her in special ways.

On Saturday, the Justice Coalition hosted their annual Ride for Justice, and it was dedicated to Cherish.

Over 250 people, despite the rain, participated in the 50-mile Ride for Justice.

"We know this city is mourning right now and this could be some healing, you know, for supporters to come out today to honor little Cherish Lily," said Ann Duggar of the Justice Coalition. "We decided that we would dedicate this in her honor today."

The scattered showers didn't keep hundreds of bikers from coming together not only to remember Cherish, but also other families who are seeking justice.

Whether remembering a loved one who was murdered, or a family still searching for answers on a missing person, Adamec Harley Davidson and the Justice Coalition are doing what they can to help these Jacksonville families.

Channel 4's Richard Nunn might be a meteorologist come Monday, but on Saturday, he was a biker, showing his support with hundreds of others.

"What has happened this week has brought it back home again and that's why these people are out here in the elements to support a great cause and remember Cherish," said Nunn.

An opening ceremony honored and remembered several families, including Cherish's mother, Rayne, and her two sisters.

Channel 4's Ken Jefferson closed in prayer and then the bikers were off on their 50-mile ride through Jacksonville. They returned to food, music and celebration -- all in dedication to Cherish.

"It's really important for a lot of us people that support them to come out and help with all of these causes to help get the word out, and just show our thanks to them," said Tim Brown of Adamec Harley Davidson.

The Ride for Justice only happens once a year but they continue fighting for justice for families in Jacksonville every single day.
