GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gainesville Police Department named two officers as their hero of the day. K-9 Officer Axe and Officer Amanda Cummings were recognized for tracking down two felony suspects almost three-quarters of a mile through woods and waist-deep swamp.
Police said two suspects, who fled from officials, were arrested after a lengthy chase, when officers found their vehicle at a Hampton Inn.
