Killer Doesn't Want Anyone To Testify For Him

Clay County Man Convicted Last Month Of Killing Vet Tech

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – The man convicted last month of killing veterinary tech Andrea Boyer, said he doesn't want anyone to testify on his behalf in his sentencing phase.

During a hearing Wednesday morning, Michael Jackson told the judge he doesn't want his family and friends dragged into the middle of the case.

He said he's prepared for any sentence, including the death penalty. Jackson is headed back to court late next month.

DNA evidence was presented during the trial that indicated Jackson had sex with Boyer before she was strangled and beaten with a fire extinguisher.

Jackson claimed that he had provided her drugs in exchange for sex, but under cross-examination, he admitted that most of what he told police when he was first arrested were lies.
