A federal grand jury in Jacksonville returned an indictment Wednesday against a Lake City man, charging him with possessing child pornography.

Ronald Charles Waters, 65, faces up to 10 years in federal prison for each of the two counts he is charged with, as well as a potential life term of supervision.

Around May 30 and Nov. 20 of this year, Waters knowingly possessed computer media of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

This case was part of a nationwide initiative called Project Safe Childhood launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
