Asst. Chief Chris Butler said JSO's search efforts ended Tuesday and that detectives are no longer out at the landfill.

"Unfortunately, I can't go into any details about what we did at this time, because it's still an active investigation," Butler said.

Police in sterile suits focused most of their efforts on a section of trash high up in the mountain of trash at the Trail Ridge Landfill. There's no word on whether they found anything.

Investigators began their search in a dumpster on Dunn Avenue which led them to the landfill in Maxville. Bulldozers were brought in to help move the mountain of trash around for investigators.

Trash haulers dumped garbage in different parts of the landfill so they wouldn't affect the search.

Police were also still talking to Foote's boyfriend, 29-year-old Courtney Davis, who is locked up on firearm charges.

Foote was living with Davis when she was last seen, but he has not been charged in her disappearance.

Davis has a long list of past criminal charges, including armed robbery, assault, theft, carjacking, marijuana possession and attempted burglary. He was also found not guilty on charges of murder and attempted murder in 2003.

Police asked anyone with information about Foote's disappearance is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
