Lawyer claims Timely Justice Act is unfair
Lawyer says the issue is to "make sure convictions are reliable"
A lawyer for death row inmates claims the Timely Justice Act is unfair.
The Law of 2013 was designed to speed up the death penalty process by giving stricter time frames for appeals and post-conviction motions.
The lawyer claimed it doesn't give condemned prisoners a fair opportunity to bring in the evidence in a timely manner.
Attorney Martin McClain said there have been cases where evidence proved a prisoner with a life sentence was innocent decades after the crime.
No ruling has been made and it's unsure when it will be made.
