Wedding Dress Inspires Her To Help Charity

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Lisa Norvelle found her dream wedding gown by chance.

She was volunteering at The Attic, Haven Hospice's thrift store, and saw something that caught her attention.

"I was literally in there volunteering, doing my second harvest stuff, and I caught it out of the corner of my eye," said Norvelle. "It is like it was meant to be."

Norvelle said she knew she wanted the wedding dress the second she saw it. Haven Hospice is a group close to her heart, because multiple members of her family have been in hospice care over the years.

"She didn't say she needed a fancy, fancy dress," said Paula Wight, an Attic employee. "She came in here because she knew she was supporting us."

Norvelle purchased the dress, but that's not all she's doing to help the charity store; she is asking all of her guests to donate to the new Haven Hospice Clay County Care Center, rather than give her and her husband-to-be gifts.

"I've already got that stuff, there's nothing that I need," said Norvelle. "It just felt right, I'd rather that go to a good cause than to me."
