Company Creates Customized Superhero Toys

Jacksonville couple wanted to inspire creativity in kids

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A local couple wanted to create something designed to inspire creativity and goodwill in children.  So they came up with HeroMe. It's a toy that allows kids to design their own Hero by selecting special powers that are found within the arm and legs of the action figure.

Josh Bryan says he was inspired to create HeroMe after mentoring a young boy in the Big Brothers program. HeroMe is a customizable toy store where children can create their own superhero action figure. Bryan says he believes his toy inspires, encourages and develops a child's creativity.

The Bryans introduced HeroMe on the crowd-funding website, Kickstarter with a six-week campaign that just wrapped-up. They surpassed kickstarter goal by 35 percent, raising approximately 34,000 dollars; the goal was 25,000 dollars.

HeroMe had been in the works for a while. Bryan and his wife Annie, both raised in Jacksonville, have been working on the project for several years and moved back to Jacksonville to launch their business

HeroMe will be available for the first time this holiday season; Preorders are available now and custom action figures ship in December, just in time for the holidays.
