1 dead, 1 injured in NW Jax shooting

Police have no suspect information or motive for shooting at this time

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 24-year-old man was killed and a second person injured in an overnight shooting in Northwest Jacksonville, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Around midnight Tuesday, patrol officers responded to a person shot on Beam Street, just west of Lem Turner Road.

When the officers arrived, they found that two men had been shot.

A man later identified as Ronald Morris died at the scene and the other man was transported to UF Health Jacksonville in stable condition, according to police.

Officers have no suspect information and no motive for the shootings.
