JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Northbound lanes of Powers Avenue were closed Tuesday night as police and rescue crews worked to clean up a single car accident on Powers Avenue at Morton Street.
The car crashed into a light pole in the area around 9:30 p.m.

Authorities said one person was taken to a local hospital after being trapped in the car for some time.
The crash happened right across the street from a fire station on Powers Avenue.
There was no word on the extent of injuries to the person inside that car.
