FLEMING ISLAND, Fla. – Two men were arrested in Clay County after deputies said they illegally dumped yard debris at a county park.
Charles Yordy and John Center, both of Jacksonville, while operating a land clearing and lawn maintenance business, regularly dumped debris on county-owned property at Doctor's Lake Park on Fleming Island, deputies said.

Detectives believe this was done to avoid the tipping fee at the county's landfill.
Between 500 and 1,000 pounds total in debris had to be cleaned up at the park site by county workers and taken to the landfill for proper disposal, deputies said.
Each man was arrested in Jacksonville and held on a $2,500 bond. The men bonded out and await court appearances on the misdemeanor charges.
