2 arrested, 3 kids removed in meth lab bust

PALATKA, Fla. – Two people were arrested and three children were removed from a home in a meth lab bust in Palatka on Monday.

Police responded to a call of strong chemical odors at the College Arms Apartments in the 2300 block of Husson Avenue.

They said 26-year-old Chad Douglas and 30-year-old Cheyenne Liebisch were in possession of items commonly used in making methamphetamine.

The children, ages 1, 8 and 14, were found in the home and released to the next of kin.

Police said the hazardous materials were collected and disposed of.

Douglas was charged with possession of listed chemicals, maintaining a drug dwelling and three counts of child abuse. He was given a bond of $18,020. Liebisch was charged with maintaining a drug dwelling and three counts of child abuse. She was given a bond of $15,516.
