LAKE CITY, Fla. – Two children were critically injured in a crash last week in Lake City, according to police.
Officers were called to the crash at about 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Southeast Baya Drive and Southeast Baker Street.

Police said a silver Chevrolet Lumina was driving northbound on Baker when it approached the intersection of Baya. Police said they don't know whether the Lumina, being driven by Krissena Brown, stopped at the stop sign before attempting to cross Baya, which has no control devices.
When Brown tried to cross, she pulled in front of an oncoming green Toyota pickup truck driven by Brian Stone and was struck on the side, police said. The vehicles spun to a rest in the roadway.
In the vehicle with Brown were three children, ages 2, 3 and 10, all believed to have been seated in the back seat. The 2-year-old suffered minor injuries and was taken to Shands Lake Shore Hospital in Lake City.
The 3-year-old, who was found face-down in the front passenger seat, and the 10-year-old were flown to UF Health.
"While the precise details of the investigation are ongoing, Brown's vehicle was travelling on a roadway with a stop sign and Stone's vehicle was not," said Police Chief Argatha Gilmore. "Our traffic homicide investigators will calculate the speed of both vehicles and narrow down the specifics before determining fault."
Police said no car seats were found in Brown's vehicle and none of the children were properly secured. Police said Brown had driver's licenses in Florida and Alabama. Her Florida license was expired and her Alabama license was suspended twice for failure to appear in traffic court.
