2 found dead at Palm Beach arts school

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Two bodies were found Wednesday morning inside one of the buildings on the campus of the Alexander W. Dreyfoos Jr. School of the Arts in downtown West Palm Beach, police said.

A school employee found the bodies in the maintenance building about 6:30 a.m. and called police, WPBF-TV reported.

West Palm Beach police Capt. David Bernhardt said there was no active threat, but the SWAT team conducted a sweep of every building at the school as a precaution.

Police haven't released the identities of the victims or said how they died, but they said there was no outward sign of trauma.

"It could turn out to be a homicide investigation later on," Bernhardt said. "It could just be a normal death investigation."

Although police haven't confirmed the identities, the president of the school union said in a statement that at least one of the victims was a custodian.

The school had its graduation in May, so school was not in session, but it was unclear if summer classes were scheduled.
