JASPER, Fla. - Two drivers died when a 91-year-old man driving the wrong way on Interstate 75 near the Florida-Georgia border late Friday night struck an SUV and a Greyhound bus.
The car's driver, Ernest Lee Holmes, from High Springs, Fla., was killed in the accident, according to the FHP report. The
man driving the SUV, Peter Linek, 55, of Ormond Beach, also died.
The bus left Orlando about 8:15 p.m. and made a stop in Gainesville before heading north toward Atlanta. The Florida Highway Patrol was called just before midnight to the scene of the accident.
FHP's Traffic Homicide Investigation unit is investigating the multiple-vehicle crash.
