Police search for gunman who men say shot at their car

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two men were shot Monday night in Northwest Jacksonville while driving near Prospect and Adams streets, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The suspected gunman is still at large, and officers are canvassing the area, police said.

At 7:15 p.m. Monday, officers were dispatched to Clyde Drive and 6th Avenue after reports that a person was shot, police said.

When officers arrived, they located two victims with gunshot wounds, and rescue transported the victims to UF Health with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victims told JSO that they were driving near Prospect and Adams streets when a man on foot flagged them down, and then attempted to rob them.

The victims told police they drove away and the man started shooting into their vehicle. They told police they then drove to a nearby residence at Clyde Drive and 6th Avenue.

The robbery unit is responding to investigate.
