2 sought in Firehouse Subs robbery

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police in Jacksonville are asking for the public's help in finding the men they say robbed a Firehouse Subs restaurant Saturday night on University Boulevard.

"The suspects forced both employees into the business. Suspects actually forced one employee to the register. The employee cooperated, and they got money from register," said Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Assistant Chief Chris Butler. The suspects then took off.

Firehouse is offering $10,000 to anyone who can help find the men they say robbed their restaurant.

"We want to make sure everyone knows we're serious about this and we're not going to tolerate it in our restaurant," said Mike Branson from Firehouse Subs.

Branson said no one was hurt during the robbery. "Everybody's fine, all shaken up, but everybody's fine."

The company hopes the $10,000 reward will act as fair warning to criminals, that their sandwich shop isn't one robbers should mess with.

"What we really want to do is have customers and our crew know their safety is top priority, and put this out there hoping it stops something like this in the future," said Branson.

Anyone with any information that could help police is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
