2 sought in Northside restaurant robbery

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man and a woman are being sought in a restaurant robbery on the Northside on Sunday night.

Police said a woman went into Basil's Pizza and Subs at 5751 N. Main St. About 8:40 p.m., approached an employee and demanded money while showing a gun.

The employee ran out the back of the business and called 911.

A short time later, the employee saw a man in dark clothes with the cash register leaving the business, police said.

They said video showed the woman try to take the register and eventually went back outside to request help from the man. The man went in and picked up the register and fled, along with the woman.

The employees saw the robbers run toward 46th Street and leave in a vehicle.

The woman is described as white, 30-40 years old, less than 5 feet tall and 120 pounds. She was wearing a pink hoodie.

Police only described the second robber as a black man. They gave no further description.
